What FaxCan keeps, and what it deletes

• Your document is held only until it's handed off to you: the receipt email for faxes you send, the notice email for faxes you receive. Never longer than 24 hours.
• We then delete it from FaxCan and request deletion of the copy on our carrier account, and we check that the carrier's copy is gone.
• Copies delivered to your email, or printed by the recipient's fax machine, are outside FaxCan and stay with you and them.

We keep the fax number, the time, the page count, the delivery status and the number of files (not their names). The AI summary shown while you prepare a fax is deleted with the document, unless you choose to keep summaries in Settings.

Every account signs in before it can see anything. Nothing is dialled until you confirm the preview. Fax numbers are checked to block premium-rate and non-North-American numbers. An unclear answer from the carrier is marked "check before resending" and never resent automatically, so a fax isn't sent twice.

This plan is not a health-care service and not a PHIPA product. We don't promise that data stays in Canada, we don't claim end-to-end encryption (fax uses the public phone network), and FaxCan isn't a records archive.
